$25,000 reward offered in West Philly store killings

$25,000 reward offered in West Philly store killings-Mayor Nutter announced a $25,000 reward Friday for tips leading to the capture and conviction of two men who shot dead three members of a family at a neighborhood store last week.
Nutter described as "heinous" the Sept. 6 slayings of Porfirio Nunez, 50, his wife, Carmen, 49, and his sister, Lina Sanchez, 42, inside Lorena's Grocery at 50th and Parrish Streets in the Mill Creek section of West Philadelphia. Two men in their mid-20s were seen on surveillance video walking to the store and then running away after the robbery and killings.Deputy Police Commissioner Richard Ross asked for the public's help in locating a white Ford Econoline work van with swing-out doors on the passenger side and lettering, apparently of a business, on both sides.
The van was seen on surveillance video driving around the neighborhood "more than once," Ross said. The driver may not be connected to the crime and may be a witness who could help the investigation, Ross said."We really need a lot of help from the public," he said.
Anyone with information about the case may call 215-686-8477 (TIPS).
Shortly before 8 p.m., the three victims were in the back of the store, preparing to close. Moments before the robbery, police said, the store phone rang with a call from someone who asked whether Lorena's had surveillance cameras. Nunez did not respond and hung up.
The Nunezes' two teenage daughters were also in the store and saw the killings. The gunmen ordered one of the girls to lie on the floor and ordered the other to open the cash register, police said. Porfirio Nunez, who police said might not have known a robbery was taking place, then walked in from the back room.
One of the gunmen shot him immediately, and both gunmen went to the back room and shot Nunez's wife and sister. On the way to the front of the store, Davenport said, they shot Nunez again before fleeing north on 50th Street.
