The elderly sisters from New Jersey were able to fight off a much younger armed carjacker, and showed him who was boss, as

he sat waiting to rob them this past Sunday morning when they decided to go out shopping at a local store.

According to myFOXny.com police report a 27-year-old man named Sergio Fernando Solorzano-Vasquez had broken into the car of the 94 and 93 year-old sisters and hid in the backseat waiting for them while armed with a knife.

When the sisters finally decided to use the car, the hiding Solorzano-Vasquez surprised them by swinging the knife at them. The 94-year-old sister began hitting Solorzano-Vasquez while the 93-year-old got out of the car and started yelling for help. A person passing by who noticed the commotion also came to the sisters aid.

Realizing the two elderly women were not going to be as easy a prey as he hoped for, Solorzano-Vasquez ran from the scene but was later caught by police.

Detective Robert Miktus, of the Hamilton Township Police Department said that they would like to have their names not publicized and say “They say that they hold no animosity toward this guy but hope they never see him again.”

Solorzano-Vasquez now faces charges of attempted carjacking, aggravated assault and weapons offenses while he remains jailed on $150,000 bail.
