'X Factor' debuts with pants-dropping performance

The X Factor's Paula Abdul had some harsh words for contestant Geo Godley on Thursday.
According to MSNBC, Abdul said she nearly threw up when the internet blogger took off his pants on stage.
"I was — first of all — shocked, disgusted, offended [and] concerned for the younger kids that were in the audience and their [families] that had to escort them out of the arena,” she said. “It was completely inappropriate, and as you can see, a little bit delusional of him to say ‘I have another song.’ The fact that he
thought that it would be OK to do that is just rather disgusting.”
The X Factor premiered on Wednesday. It features several well-known celebrity judges including Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger and L.A. Reid.
As the Hollywood Reporter reports, the show premiered lower than the Fox hit, American Idol. It averaged an 8.7 household rating whereas the tenth season of American Idol premiered with a 16.4 rating.
Cowell previously said that he would be disappointed if the show did not attract 20 million viewers. Still, the show has been lucrative for him so far. Fox paid $250 million to steal the U.S. rights of the show from NBC.
